Pete was an elder man.
He was a good man and I felt proud to be his friend.
He'd call me up every year, a few days before I started the show at Bryant Park to wish me well.
He owned this boat. It would sit in his garage at his West Hamptons home. It never touched the water. When Pete was healthier he would paint it and repaint it and then he'd light up a cigar and just admire it. He doesn't do that anymore, as he is in Heaven now, and I'm sure he does not need a boat to sail away.
To honor him, I called it "Pete's Boat"
I wish him Fair Winds ❤
